We are uniting people of faith to build stronger communities.
As a crossroad for communication and cooperation, we engage and equip congregations and others to address the many needs in Pierce County through advocacy, education and service.
Associated Ministries is a center for interfaith relations deeply engaged in transforming communities.
Associated Ministries believes that people of faith are called to live a life in service to other people so that we are building stronger communities for everyone, including those who are most on the margins of society. Grounded in our faith traditions and beliefs, each person of faith comes to our commitment of service in ways that allow us to encounter one another as whole people — both broken and whole — in the spirit of loving kindness.
Partnership is the word that Associated Ministries uses to express the core value of unity into which we seek to live.
Associated Ministries was established to live into the unity that God has given to us as people of faith. The unity that we seek to participate in is lived out in a number of ways and places, most often seen in and through the programs and services that serve to build stronger communities. However, if unity is at the heart of what it means to be Associated Ministries, as both a Christian ecumenical organization and an interfaith partnership, then we need to clearly articulate what partnership means both within the organization, and to our partners outside of the organization.
We define our understanding of partnership through the following words:
- Shared Accountability
- Mutual Agreement
- Client-Centered Focus
- Clear Communications
- Common Purpose
- Relation to Mission
- Strength-Based Relationships
