Become a Care Team Member!
Learn how you can provide spiritual and emotional support to victims of disaster
Associated Ministries’ Disaster Response program mobilizes and engages people of faith to prepare for the event of a disaster and long-term recovery efforts.
In partnership with the Pierce County’s Emergency Management (PCEM) and Washington Community Chaplain Corps, Associated Ministries’ staff recruits and trains volunteers to form Care Teams members to come along the side of those who are impacted by a disaster.
What is a Care Team? The Care Team members partner with survivors following a disaster to walk with them through the recovery process. Care Team members offer emotional and spiritual support and connect survivors with needed resources.
How to get involved: Associated Ministries is ready to train more Care Teams and have them available for activation immediately following a disaster. Talk with friends in your social or religious groups about forming a Care Team. The AM Disaster Response program will come to your congregation’s Sunday school, Church, evening meetings, etc. and present information to help individual members be better-prepared for disasters.
There are also ongoing training opportunities throughout the community to learn about ways in which we can prepare for the event of a disaster. Please contact staff for further information.
