Members of many different tribes will gather at Chief Leschi Schools for a day of dancing, drumming and family time to learn about how to live healthy ways. This year marks the 24th year that this powwow has been celebrating wellness, and those who came to participate had the opportunity to learn more about the various wellness programs offered both inside the Tribe and outside of Puyallup tribal circles.
“Each year the Puyallup Tribe’s Wellness Powwow continues to grow and we are happy to help in educating our community about health and wellness,” said Wellness Powwow Committee Secretary Laricia Garcia. “We want everyone to be aware of resources that are available for our families and the community.”
