Klarissa Monteros will help us learn about the role of government, police and the church in relation to our racist past and dive deeper into the intersection of network impoverishment, policy and homelessness that we see today.

The sessions will be packed with information, interactive exercises, and will provide time for participants to unpack what they learn together. Resources will be provided for continued independent learning.  There is no cost to participate.  You will automatically be signed up for all three sessions (attendance at each of them is optional).

Part 1

Part 1 of this series will focus on Education. We will provide participants the opportunity to gain awareness of this country’s deep and pervasive history with racism. We will learn about the role of government, police and the church in relation to our racist past and dive deeper into the intersection of network impoverishment, policy and homelessness that we see today. This session will be jam packed with information, interactive, and will provide plenty of time for us to unpack what we learn together. Resources will be provided to all participants for continued independent learning.

Part 2

Elevation is the theme for Part 2 of this series and you will not want to miss it! By this time we will know our past, how it is connected to our present and we will begin to elevate our understanding of how this shows up in our minds, hearts and bodies. There will be lots of personal reflection time and opportunities for us to learn more about who we are. Racial equity terms and concepts will be introduced along with the fundamental principles of courageous conversations in order to provide tools that will support the normalization of ongoing elevation.

Part 3

We saved the best for last…

Part 3 is all about Liberation. To liberate is to release from a state or situation that limits freedom; and the good news is that we can all do this! Here our hope is to motivate you to take action and teach you how to transform our community into one that is anti-racist by collectively learning the ins and outs of how to hold transformational conversations. We will provide lots of time for participants to practice application and we will also introduce the concept of racial equity toolkits. Resources will be provided to all participants that will support our ongoing collective liberation.
