AM Celebrates 50 Years of Service in 2019

You are invited to join us throughout 2019 as we celebrate 50 years of working together to serve our community!

In July 1969 Associated Ministries of Tacoma-Pierce County was incorporated as the successor to the ecumenical Urban Ministry, the Tacoma-Pierce County Council of Churches, and the Tacoma Urban Coalition Task Force. During our formative years AM facilitated a wide variety of programs and ministries throughout the Tacoma-Pierce County area, including Friend to Friend, FISH Food Banks, Tacoma Seamen’s Center, the Police Chaplaincy and Con-neXion.

The 50 years since our founding has seen an ongoing story of convening, energizing and deploying people of faith and goodwill to serve the vulnerable and marginalized… working together to create a community that is more humane, compassionate and just.

During 2019 we’ll be recognizing and celebrating this amazing legacy, while expectantly looking forward to our next 50 years. The celebration won’t be complete without YOU!  Please mark your calendars now and plan to join us at multiple special events throughout 2019, including:

  • An Evening with Elizabeth Smart (March 8, 7-9 pm, Rialto Theater)
  • Interfaith Women’s Conference (March 9, 8 am-5 pm, Curtis Jr High)
  • Keeping Dreams Alive Luncheon (April 10, 11:30 am-1 pm, Temple Beth El)
  • Amazing Quest (May 19, Noon-4 pm, People’s Park, Tacoma)

Watch this space and your mailbox in the weeks and months to come for more details on these and other opportunities during 2019 at which we will come together to mark 50 years of community transformation. It wouldn’t have been possible without partners like you; please join us to celebrate!
