The Youth Host Home Program pairs a young person experiencing homelessness with a caring household wanting to make a difference.
*If you are a youth between the ages of 18-24 and are currently experiencing homelessness, please do not apply here. Go to the home page and click on 'Homeless?' in the top right corner. A Coordinated Entry Representative will be in contact with you soon! For this program, youth are selected from the Coordinated Entry Priority Pool when a Youth Host home Provider has an open room.
How does this program work?Â
- Youth Host Home (YHH) Providers are people with an extra bedroom in their house or apartment who are willing to open their home for one year to a young person (age 18-24) experiencing homelessness. YHH Providers receive monthly rent while their room is occupied.
- The YHH Program seeks providers who bring diverse attributes such as cultural backgrounds and lived experiences to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants to grow and express themselves.
- While YHH Providers provide a living space and light mentorship, the YHH Program Case Manager assists participants in overcoming barriers preventing them from achieving educational, employment, and personal goals. The Case Manager guides them in developing skill sets for attaining the self-sufficiency needed to live independently.
