Adult Home Share

Home sharing is a living arrangement where Home Providers offer accommodations to Home Seekers in exchange for an agreed-upon level of support in the form of financial contribution, assistance with household tasks, transportation, or companionship.

Watch our Home Share staff talk about our programs on Cityline:

Home sharing is a simple idea that has been around forever and is reemerging as a strategy to address the lack of affordable housing, an aging population, and increasing homelessness in our communities.

Home sharing is a best practice housing model with facilitates living arrangements between two or more unrelated people who agree to share a home or apartment for their mutual benefit. Home Providers (homes with an extra bedroom to share) and Home Seekers (people needing an affordable place to live) create an agreement for becoming housemates.

Seniors benefit from home sharing by receiving assistance with household tasks, added income, shared living expenses, and companionship which reduces isolationism. Home sharing prevents and reduces homelessness by allowing people experiencing instability to become stable through the renting of their extra bedroom, or adequate housing, to find an affordable housing option.

Home sharing allows the Home Provider to generate income or trade for rent assistance with basic household chores. Home Providers can use their extra bedroom to earn income to regain stability and standard of living. If you are interested in becoming a Home Provider, please click on the button below.

Home sharing also provides an affordable housing solution to Home Seekers, who may be stressed financially, experiencing life's transitions, or unstable housing. If you would like to rent a room from a Home Provider, please click on the button below.

Let Associated Ministries do the hard part.  We try to make the best matches possible between Home Providers and Home Seekers, through interviews, background checks, and recognizing lifestyle compatibility.
