Associated Ministries Transitions the VITA Program

Associated Ministries is ending our oversight of one of the programs we have faithfully managed for many years. This decision comes after a meaningful and impactful final season for our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

During the 2025 tax season, which just wrapped up, we completed nearly 1,300 returns, helping bring nearly $2 million in tax credits into our community! This work is a powerful way to serve individuals and families, and we are deeply grateful for the many volunteers, Site Coordinators, and community members who made it possible.

After thoughtful discussion and discernment, we have entered into conversations with another local agency that will apply to take over the leadership of this effort going forward. Once they are awarded funding, we are committed to support a smooth and thoughtful transition, ensuring continuity of services to our community.

VITA’s season under the umbrella of AM has been strengthened by the dedication and care of many. We are confident that the next agency will not only carry this work forward but also build upon it, potentially expanding financial support and deepening its impact.

While it is bittersweet to close this chapter, we do so with a full heart, knowing that we are passing along a program that is stronger than ever. We are encouraged by what lies ahead and look forward to seeing the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program continue to grow and serve our community in new and meaningful ways.
