Call to Action: DACA

Call to Action (shared from Church World Service):
On the heels of the termination of DACA, it’s more important than ever to stand with our immigrant siblings. Congress must hear our voices loud and clear: Enact a clean Dream Act to protect immigrant youth. Defund the deportation and detention machine and border militarization. We cannot allow the Dream Act to be used as a bargaining chip for escalating detention, deportation, and border militarization.

Join in a national call-in and social media call for action to tell our Senators and Representatives to #DefundHate and pass the #DreamAct.

Call to Action (shared from Interfaith Immigration Coalition):

President Trump has announced an end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, turning our nation’s back on undocumented immigrant youth who are valued members of our communities. The consequences of repealing DACA are immediate, devastating, and profound. No new DACA applications filed after today will be considered, and current DACA recipients will see their protection revoked starting in six months. DACA has protected nearly 800,000 immigrant youth from deportation and allowed them to work, attend school, and raise a family. DACA’s termination puts these lives at risk, threatens the sanctity of family unity, and jeopardizes our communities and economy.
