Honoring Our Neighbors

The 3rd Annual Ramadan Iftar dinner, co-hosted by Associated Ministries, Pacifica Institute and University of Puget Sound, proved to be a beautiful evening for all who attended.  I am so proud to be part of a community where we can come together to celebrate and meet our neighbors of faiths different from our own.  People of many different faiths turned out:  Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Buddhists, Unitarian Universalists, Mormons, spiritual and secular individuals, all came together to celebrate and learn more about Ramadan and what that means to our Muslim friends.

Not only is this a great opportunity to educate yourself about what exactly Ramadan is and how spiritually profound this time is for Muslims, but it is an amazing opportunity to meet new people, have great conversation and maybe even come away with a new friendship.

Join us next year as we come together again to celebrate, converse and grow our relationships.  Until then, salaam!
