Meet the Team: Marissa!

Hi! I’m Marissa (she/her). I’m originally from the coal region of Pennsylvania and have called Tacoma home since 2019.

I currently serve as the HR & Operations Manager at Associated Ministries, where I get to use a wide range of skills, from running payroll to troubleshooting facilities (yes, even installing lightbulbs!). I thrive in dynamic environments and love the constant opportunity to problem-solve. People are my “why,” and I’ve spent the past 10 years working in nonprofits of all sizes, supporting both staff and the communities they serve.

I’m a doer at heart, backed by a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Penn State (WE ARE!), a Master’s in Organizational Management from Misericordia University, and my PHR certification through HRCI. What I love most about my work at AM is the people, our team shows up fully every day, and I’m proud to support them in doing such meaningful work.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my dog, and my cats. You can usually find me playing video games or out in the garden.
