Effective November 18, 2013 Valorie Crout assumed the position of Chief Program Officer, replacing Greg Claycamp, who left Associated Ministries on August 30th. The Chief Program Officer is responsible for staff and operations of programs in our Center for Direct Services and Center for Community Mobilization. After careful review of more than 25 applicants for the position, it was clear to the full panel of four reviewers and interviewers that Valorie was unanimously the best candidate for this critical leadership position.

Valorie began her career in human services as an outreach worker for Catholic Community Services where she was integral in the design and development of a new program that was a contractual agreement with DSHS to provide direct services for foster youth. She came to Associated Ministries in 1997 and over the years led the design and development of many successful programs, including: Homeless Mail Service, Protective Payee Services, Housing Services and Advocacy, Mentorship programs, Intensive In-Home Case Management, Resource Referrals, Energy Assistance Program, Community Connections Resource Center, and the Family Emergency Fund.

Valorie served most recently as our Associate Chief Program Officer where she provided direct supervision to all of Associated Ministries’ programs and services, including Access Point 4 Housing, Homeless Youth Outreach, Paint Tacoma-Pierce Beautiful, Pierce County Asset Building Coalition and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), Family Permanent Housing, Youth Advancement & Housing, Disaster Preparedness & Recovery, and Community Chaplaincy.

She brings an abundance of experience, wisdom, and humor that will enable and equip our programs and services to move into the future, grounding us in best practices, quality improves and continued focus on accountability and transparency.  Please join us in welcoming Valorie to her new position at Associated Ministries.
