New Strategic Goals Energize AM’s Mission

by Mike Yoder, Executive Director, AM

Associated Ministries’ Board of Directors, along with staff leadership, undertook a strategic plan “refresh” exercise during 2017, guided by Dr. Chris Gilbert of Noble Edge Consulting. Five organizational goals were outlined to serve as the “banners” under which Associated Ministries will continue to march forward in service to our community in the coming year, and beyond.

Following are our five key goals and a brief description of what each means to our work:

Authentic and Inclusive Interfaith Relationships

Embracing the power of unity by working collaboratively to offer services and outreach that reflect spiritual diversity and encourage a strong sense of belonging.

Effective Partnerships

Cultivating partnerships among faith communities, organizations and charitable individuals through a sustained engagement for service.

Thriving Community

Empowering lasting change in the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the people of Pierce County.

Sustainable Organization

Strengthening operations through economic stability, enduring and diverse resources and best practices of fiscal oversight.

Equitable and Moral Leadership

Actively working for equity and social justice.

Under each goal we established key objectives and specific strategies. Taken together this effort serves as a work plan that energizes and guides our mission to unite people of faith to build stronger communities.

Combining the goals into a single statement results in this “narrative” for AM:

“Associated Ministries is a key agent of transformation in Pierce County, committed to function effectively as a sustainable organization, by leveraging authentic interfaith relationships and effective partnerships and championing equitable moral leadership to help build a thriving community.”

Thank you for joining us in this exciting work to bring about community transformation!
