Successful Paint Tacoma-Pierce Beautiful Season!

Since 1985, Paint Tacoma-Pierce Beautiful (PTPB) has mobilized volunteers to paint more than 2,100 houses for low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners throughout Piece County. This summer, over 600 volunteers continued this tradition by painting 37 houses for homeowners in Tacoma and Lakewood.

Our volunteers included faith communities, military service members, families, neighborhood and service groups, unions and workplaces. We were thrilled to have four youth crews, including teens from two Tacoma high schools, a youth employment program, and an international exchange program that included 15 teenagers from China!

One homeowner, whose house was painted by the Tacoma Rainiers, told us, “Now I just smile because the house looks beautiful for the first time in probably decades. I can’t keep from looking at it whenever I go outside.”
