AM Affordable Housing Report Receiving National Attention

Affordable Housing for Everyone

The “moral voice” advocacy effort that was birthed out of AM’s Community Quarterly Meetings is receiving national attention! An article was just published by the East Coast nonprofit “Next City” highlighting the efforts of local faith leaders to speak into the City of Tacoma’s affordable housing strategy.

Read the full article, entitled “Tacoma Churches Don’t Just Pray for More Affordable Housing,” on their website at this link.

Next City’s mission is to inspire social, economic and environmental change in cities through journalism and events around the world. They provide daily online coverage for their 2.5 million readers about the policies and innovations that drive progress in metropolitan regions across the world.

Our hope is this spotlight on our advocacy work will help us continue building momentum for our efforts to engage faith communities in addressing homelessness. Members of local faith communities who would like to learn more about being a part of AM’s “Moral Voice Task Force” are encouraged to contact Sandy Windley at AM: sandyw@associatedministries.org or 253-426-1506.

We are also calling on local clergy to “sign on” to show their support for our policy priorities report and its recommendations, thereby amplifying the voices of the faith community in matters such as this. To indicate your willingness to sign on, please contact Sandy Windley at the numbers above.
