"Invaluable is the word…" – Meet Wendy Morris

Invaluable is the word that comes to mind when Associated Ministries’ new Volunteer Coordinator, Wendy Morris, thinks of volunteers.

Wendy Morris – Volunteer Coordinator

Tasked with coordinating the volunteer program at Associated Ministries, Wendy is responsible for recruiting, training and supporting volunteers from all walks of life.  Working with all of our programs, her goal is to create a volunteer program that educates, engages and enables people from throughout Pierce County.

Volunteers are critical to the outcome of uniting people of faith to build stronger communities.  It is through the hundreds of volunteers who come out each year to help with Paint Tacoma-Pierce Beautiful and the Hunger Walk that we are able to make a tangible impact in our communities.  Volunteers uniting to be part of a Family Support Team, walk alongside families moving from homelessness to permanent housing, helping strengthen families.  Other volunteers may wish to help out in the Associated Ministries office or with other programs, and if they aren’t sure what to do, Wendy is here to help guide them to their best fit.

When asked why they volunteer, people eagerly offer their reasons: they want to make a difference, have a passion for the mission, or perhaps want to change or influence policies.  Some may want to be advocates for those that cannot speak for themselves, some to increase their skills and knowledge, and others who cannot give financially can give of their time and talent.

Whatever the reason someone chooses to volunteer at Associated Ministries, they are welcomed to utilize their abilities, their skills, and most importantly, their hearts.  For more information on volunteering, contact Wendy at Contact Wendy or 253-383-3056 ext. 117.
