It’s VITA Season!
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free, tax preparation services to thousands of moderate and low-income Pierce County residents each year during the tax season. Support with tax preparation can make an enormous difference to an individual or family who may not know how to maximize their tax refund or credits.We are ramping up for the 2023 tax season and need YOU to help us reach our goal of preparing 2,000 tax returns for the Pierce County community!

Recruiting Volunteers to Prepare Taxes in Communities Across America

Volunteer With VITA
What: Prepare taxes for low-income taxpayers
When: First week of February to April 18th at multiple tax sites throughout Pierce County (days, times, and locations vary). Most volunteers contribute about 6 hours per week at one or more tax sites.
Where: Tacoma, Lakewood, and Spanaway (exact locations TBD)
How: First, register to volunteer; Second, attend an orientation; Third, train for and pass IRS certification exams; Fourth, begin preparing taxes for the community at one of our VITA sites!
