Please register today (free but registration is required) and plan to join us online via Zoom for the next Community Quarterly Meeting to Solve Homelessness on Thursday, December 9, 5:00-6:00 p.m.

If you want to be inspired and encouraged, you will not want to miss this meeting! Not only will you hear what some amazing local organizations are up to in our community, you will also learn tangible ways that YOU can get involved as a volunteer. The scheduled presenters are:

  • Heidi Stoermer, Director of Feed253, will share how they serve those experiencing homelessness on a 100% volunteer basis. Volunteers coordinate the delivery of 30-50 individually-packaged, home-cooked meals to those experiencing homelessness three days each week. Feed253 volunteers also work to increase donations to local charities and foodbanks and provide supplies to Bryant Elementary students.
  • Gerald Daniels, Director of the RISE Center, will present the programs of this Hilltop-based agency that offers an array of services to stabilize people’s lives. In addition to equipping volunteers to bring food to encampments twice a week, they also offer substance use disorder counseling; prison re-entry program; and mental health therapy. They are also forming new initiatives to serve those most vulnerable in our community.
  • Michele Cotton, Development Coordinator at Associated Ministries, will share about the next Project Homeless Connect in-person event on Jan. 28, 2022. Many essential services will be provided onsite for those experiencing homelessness, and HIRE253 will again offer on-site employment opportunities. Every client who attends will receive a resource bag and a free lunch. Around 100 volunteers are needed to make this life-changing event happen; online volunteer and vendor sign-ups will begin soon!
  • Michael Yoder, ED at Associated Ministries, will wrap up our time together with closing thoughts on how else we can be involved.
